The 25th ICID Congress (International Congress on Irrigation and Drainage), of which Türkiye is among the founding members, was held in India. Representing our country, Mr. Mehmet Akif Balta, General Manager of the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), presented our Artificial Intelligence Supported Smart Irrigation System, the İmamoğlu Irrigation Project, implemented in Adana. Our advanced water management practices, recognized as pioneering on the global stage, attracted considerable interest from the participants. The benefits derived from sensor-based hierarchical structures integrated into the Electrical Water Management System (ESYS) were highlighted during the event. Discussions also focused on hierarchical authorization in centralized water management, real-time monitoring of water allocations according to predefined plans, and the additional advantages provided by soil moisture probes and meteorological data for irrigation discipline.
